Okay so it has been forever since I have posted anything. I am very sorry. We have been super busy and I just have not had time to update my blog.

This past weekend Jacob flew home from Kentucky (where he went for 2 weeks) and we had to stop quickly at Wal-Mart. While we were there someone climbed into the back of Jacob's truck and stole his luggage. Yes I know it was stupid to leave it in the back of the truck, but it would not fit inside of the truck. He is just devestated. Saturday we were supposed to meet some good friends who were in from Houston but we had to go shopping for clothes. Since Jacob was gone for two weeks he had ALL of his clothes with him. He also had his three favorite pairs of shoes. We went to the Boardwalk and happened to run into our friends while we were there. We replaced his wardrobe and one pair of shoes, but he really is mad that he lost his boots.

This week has been really dull. Jacob has been working in Shreveport and helping out some friends at their houses after work. We did recieve a new pool this week from my brother-in-law and we have yet to get that put up. The kids can't wait for that to happen.

Next week will be quite uneventful as well. Jacob is headed back out of town on Sunday morning around 7 AM. He will be going to North Carolina for two weeks and then headed back to Shreveport. He will be missing our Wedding Anniversary but he will be back in town for my birthday

Turning the BIG 30. I am so nervous about that. I am hoping that Jacob is planning me a great party. I just want to have dinner with my friends and enjoy their company.

Have a great summer. There is only 4 weeks left.

We have a great weekend planned. Hannah and I are going to be going to Dallas with our bestest friends and I can't wait. We are going to be going to the American Girl Store for our "Annual" trip. Chloe and Hannah can't wait to do that. Isabelle is getting to go for the first time and she can't wait. The girls want to eat at the bistro again soooo bad. I hope that we get to do that for them.

We are also getting ready for Vacation Bible School in Bethany at my sister's church. I go every year and teach the 5th and 6th graders and we have a great time. It will be fun but it sure makes for a long week. We start at 5:15 every night and we don't get home until around 9:30. At the end of the week my kids are bears.

The week after that we start our swimming lessons and we can't wait. It will be so interesting to see how well Preston does his first year of lessons. This is our busiest month of the summer and I know it will all be worth it, but it is going to be stressful.

We are also waiting to hear about GM. I really hate waiting on them because while we wait on them to solve their problems Jacob will be out of job but we don't know how long they will be shut down this time. It is slightly stressful, not knowing where your next paycheck will come from, but I know that with trust in God we are going to be fine. We are hoping to take a vacation to Arkansas this summer to go camping at the Crater of Diamond state park. I think that we can do a trip for not much money if we do that and I know the kids will have a blast. It should be interesting because I am sooo not an outdoor person. Oh well I guess I will be now.

I remember going camping with one of my best friends growing up and it was fun. So hopefully the kids will enjoy it. They will be excited about sleeping in a tent because they are always asking to do that. It should be great.

Have a great weekend everyone.

What a great month this past month has been for our family. We have been super busy but have had a great time together. We had a great mother's day because we got to spend the day with my grandmother and my mother at my parent's house. I am so excited that God has blessed my parents with a wheelchair van so that we could bring my grandmother home for special occasion days.

The month of June is going to be extremely busy for us. We have 3 Vacation Bible Schools, Gymnastics for Hannah, swim lessons for both kids and Preston's birthday.

We are also losing some really great friends due to a job change in June so it will be a very difficult and busy month. I have been really proud of my daughter because she is doing really well. She took the news of her best friend moving ok. I think that it will hit her when they actually move, but right now she is spending as much time as she can with her and enjoying it.

My son has taken a huge step in growing up this weekend and I couldn't be prouder. He has decided to become potty trained (finally) and he started riding his bike with no training wheels. He will be 4 in June and I can't believe it. I am having a hard time because it does mean that my baby is growing up.

I hope that everyone has a great summer and really enjoys it. I know that we will.

I am finally getting around to updating. April was such a busy month for us. We had Easter, my grandparents 50th Wedding Anniversary and my mom's 50th birthday party. We have not had a chance to even sit down and relax. We are now getting the chance to relax a little, but not for long.

Last weekend we built a huge cardboard box maze in our church gym and our kids in Awana's got to run through it on Sunday night. They had a blast. Kids of all ages loved it. It was so much fun building, but I am not looking forward to taking it down.

Jacob has been super busy mowing yards and so he has decided to hire a youth at the church to help him out beginning this Saturday. It will be good because he will get done mowing way earlier than normal. I am glad and so is Dustin (the kid that will be helping him).

My grandmother has been in the hospital, but is scheduled to go home today. I am hoping that she will be well enough to come to my parents house for mother's day lunch on Sunday. She really enjoys coming over and seeing all of the kids there. I think that we wear her out, but I know that she also loves seeing them so it doesn't bother her that much.

We are having a Cinco De Mayo party today at my house and will be busting a pinata soon. My kids are so excited about it. They can't wait to get candy. It is going to be an exciting week.

Ok Well we have been so busy that I have not had a chance to update or anything.
After Easter weekend we went to San Antonio last week and had a great time.
We arrived in San Antonio on Tuesday evening with my mom, dad, sister, niece and Uncle Gilbert. We had a great time relaxing on Tuesday and then Wednesday it was time to work. We went to my mom's parents house and Jacob, my dad, and my uncle started laying a wood floor at the house. It was alot of work, but they got it done in one day and it looks great. I have put some pictures blow. Then my whole family arrived on Thursday evening at the house that we rented for the week. There were 15 of us staying in this house and it was great. We had a fishing pond and a basketball court, a covered pavilion and a TV in every room of the house. There was also a ping pong table and an air hockey table. The kids had a blast being together.

On Friday evening my grandparents came over and we had a huge family picnic with about 60-70 people coming. It was really great to see alot of my great aunts and great uncles. Alot of my second cousins were there and it was alot of fun catching up with everyone. We went fishing on Friday night and one of my cousins and his friend caught a big catfish. On Saturday we got up and had a nice reception for my grandparents and we took some family pictures.

We left the reception for my grandparents early and headed off to Dallas for a family vacation with just the 4 of us. We ended up going to the Great Wolf Lodge and waterpark. It was a blast. The kids loved getting to go swimming even though it was a bit chilly outside and I really enjoyed it as well. We stayed most of the day at the waterpark on Sunday and then we headed home. I was so glad to get home and get to relax.

Now this week is my mom's birthday week and so we have to get ready for her party on Saturday and then I hope that we get a little break before Summer starts.

This weekend was a wonderful and exciting weekend. We had a really good time on Saturday morning in Minden at the Easter Egg Hunt with my parents. They hid 10,000 eggs and had about 135 kids or so. It was a blast. The Easter Bunny was there and they had a hayride and an Easter Bonnet contest. The kids loved it and they got so many eggs.

Then we came home and had our annual Speight family Easter party. It was so much fun. Jacob's family came over and we grilled burgers and hot dogs. We hid about 350 eggs and there were six kids that got to hunt for them. They had a blast. Then my mother in law and sis in law gave all of the kids these huge baskets full for Easter and Jacob's aunt gave them a baggie full of easter candy. We have so much Easter candy I don't know what to do with all of it. On Sunday morning the kids got their Easter baskets from the Easter bunny and loved everything in it.
We went and did our third Egg hunt at the Langford's house on Sunday afternoon. It was fun but raining.

This morning I did not have kids to watch, but I did have some errands to run. Preston and I had a great time spending the day together. We even got to go on a lunch date to Cici's. That is Preston's favorite place to eat. We then came home and he took a 3 hour nap before we had to get up and go pick up sister from school.

Tonight we have been packing for our vacation and I am so excited to be leaving tomorrow. We are going to have fun even though we will be working hard. I love going to San Antonio and visiting my family. I am hoping to get to take the kids to Promised Land Dairy while we are there. It is really neat there and we get to feed the cows and the kids get to pretend to milk a cow. They really like it there so I hope that we get the chance to go there. I am really excited about getting to see my mom's family.

Today is a good day so far and it is my last full day of work because Friday I have off and next week I have off to go out of town. I am so excited about getting to take a mini vacation. We are going to get to see lots of family that we haven't seen in a while and we will get to help my grandparents celebrate their 50th Wedding anniversary. I am so excited.

This weekend we are going to be pretty busy. I am going to try to talk Jacob into taking Hannah on a date to see the Miley Cyrus movie on Friday night and then Saturday we are going to the biggest Easter Egg Hunt in Minden that we have ever been too. It is going to be a blast. Then we are going to be coming home for our annual Speight Family Easter Egg Hunt and Party at our house. That will be a blast. Sunday we have church in the morning and then we will be going to my brother in laws parents house for Easter dinner. Then we get to rest and pack for our upcoming trip. I love short weeks.

I am getting ready for my monthly date with my husband and waiting on all of my daycare kids to get picked up. It has definitely been a long week and I am ready for it to be over. Sunday will be our Easter musical and it is really affecting my vocal chords. I hope that after this I can make it to the doctor to get looked at. I am just really scared that once I go I will not be able to sing anymore. I love to sing so that would be a real heartbreak for me if that happened.

Tonight Jacob and I are going to see Fast and Furious and going out to eat somewhere good I hope. Tomorrow morning Jacob is going mowing and then I have to take Preston to the doctor because he has broken out in some sort of rash on his face. After we brave the doctors office I need to get groceries and get back to the church by 3:30 for dress rehearsal. I am going to be so worn out, but I know that it will definitely be worth it on Sunday evening. I also am singing a special Sunday morning so I sometime have to find the time to work on that.

I hope that I get everything in so that I can take the smallest of naps on Sunday afternoon. Have a wonderful weekend and if you are not busy stop by our church Sunday night at 6 for our Easter drama. It is going to be great.

It is amazing the things that God will use to open your eyes or give you just what you need when you need it.

Lots of things are going on this week in our family. The future of my husband's job is unclear, and although I am really not worried about it because I know God is in control, I know that Jacob is worried and I am a little scared as to what the future holds for us. While reading my new book from Karen Kingsbury I came across a verse that is just what I needed to hear at the time. Isn't that amazing how awesome God is. The verse is "Consider it pure joy whenever you face trials of many kinds. For you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance." I know that right now our family is going to be ok and God is just using this to teach us to have faith in Him and trust in Him everything. I am learning so much during these times about each of us in our family. All that we can do is lean on each other and trust God that He knows what is best for us. This verse is becoming my new favorite verse because I can't think of a time when we are not going through some sort of trial in our life and we just have to remember that God is using that to mold us into what he wants for us to be.

This week has been a great week so far. I have had to keep kids during Hannah's spring break, but all in all it has not been too bad. Hannah has helped out with the kids this week and they really love her. Tomorrow I don't have any kids except my own so we are going to be off to Sci Port Discovery Center. They love that place and I do too because it has so much to keep them occupied. Then we are going to head over to Minden to see my grandparents.

My grandmother is doing good at the new nursing home and I am so glad about that. I was really worried that she would not do good with the move but she has surprised me. She has actually been standing up in Physical Therapy, which is great. I am hoping that they can get her to at least be able to get up and down out of a chair so that she can come home to my parents house for the holidays. That would be the best present to be able to have her there.

My grandfather is having a little bit harder time adjusting. I think that it has to do with becoming dependent on my parents instead of being independent. He is also having a hard time seeing and he has a hard time hearing. I hope that my parents can encourage him to go and see a doctor about those two things.

I have been thinking a lot about the responsibility that my parents took on when they moved my grandparents down here. They just got all of the kids out of the house, and now they have my grandparents moved in. I think that they are two of the most unselfish people. They put the needs of others always above their own needs and I could not ask for a better example of selflessness for my kids to see. I just hope that some day I will be able to be the same example to my kids.

I would just ask that you guys continue to pray for my parents and my grandparents as they adjust to all of the changes that are happening. I know that this move was so important for my grandpa and I am glad that he decided to move without a fight. I hope that everyone has a great week.

Busy Weekend

This weekend is going to be great but busy. To start off we just got home from visiting my grandparents in Minden. They absolutely look better than they did on Tuesday. I am so glad because I was definitely worried that they were not going to get better.

My grandmother actually likes the food at this nursing home and so far the people that we have encountered there have been great to her. I am very glad about that. My grandfather is doing great also but having to adjust to alot of things. Especially having no drivers license and depending on my parents to go anywhere. The other day he told my mother that he would just walk to the nursing home to see my grandmother. That would not be good because he does not know his way around Minden and he can't see anything. Also he can't walk very far without his heart rate getting up too high. He definitely does not need to be walking anywhere but he has to get used to relying on my parents to help him out.

I am so glad that they are doing well because my grandparents mean the world to me. My goal is to go and visit them once a week, which seems like a lot but it is only 45 minutes from our house. That is the same distance as Bossier or Youree Dr. I hope that we can stick with that. It is really important for my kids to know my grandparents.

Tomorrow night is Hannah's slumber party and she is so excited. We are having about 10 girls come and it is going to be a blast. We are going to be making pillowcases and doing makeovers. We are also going to be having a HSM sing along on the Wii. I am sure to get lots of great pictures. I will be posting soon I hope. Even Preston is excited and got himself some new pajamas for the PJ Fashion Runway Show. It will be a blast except for on Sunday morning when we have to get them all ready for church. I know that we will make it, it will just be a stretch.

I hope that everyone has a great weekend.

Tuesday, March 17, 2009

Today we drove to Minden to visit my grandparents who have just moved here from San Antonio. My grandmother, who I would consider the most wonderful person in the world, is living in the nursing home in Minden. My grandfather is living with my parents. I know that people can not live forever, but I would love it if they could. It was very eye opening to me to see my grandmother and I had a hard time going home from the nursing home. I want to spend as much time with her as I can. She is getting worse slowly but surely and I hate to see her that way. My grandfather does not seem the same, but maybe that is because he is having to get used to his new surroundings and it is all a little surreal. It is breaking my heart to watch my grandparents getting older and I am having avery difficult time dealing with it. I will just ask everyone to keep me and my grandparents in your prayers. We definitely will need it.

Today has been a good day. I woke up around 4 this morning so that I could finish getting my kids clothes ready to sell at Reruns are Fun. I finally finished getting them done and woke up everyone in the house so that they could get dressed bright and early this morning for Hannah's last basketball game. It was great. After that we headed off to Minden for my nephew's 1st Birthday Party. Michael is so cute. Here are some pictures of him eating his cake. I wouldn't have missed that for anything.

Here is a picture of my nephew Kade playing with Michaels box that his toy came in. Why do they always love the boxes more than the toys??

Then it was off to Kiddie Mia's for another birthday party. The kids had a good time.

Finally time for an evening at home with the kids and hubby. We are watching "The Dark Knight" We have never seen it before. So far I really like it.

I did get a chance today to sort through Hannah's clothes and realized that we are so very blessed. I gave a lot of her clothes to Reruns and then I got a whole trash bag of clothes ready to give away and we still have drawers that are overflowing. I guess that I will not be buying her very many clothes at Reruns. This time it is all about Preston.

I guess that God lets us make small realizations all throughout our lives. I am so thankful for everything that we have. God is so awesome and amazing.

What a Weekend

So this weekend is going to be super busy. First of all Hannah wants to go and see Race to Witch Mountain tonight. I hope that we get to go but I doubt it. We have to go and get two birthday presents today for two different parties tomorrow. Jacob is supposed to be going mowing tomorrow morning but it has been raining so much I don't know if he will be able to. I know that he is hoping that he has time to go mowing because he is not looking forward to everything that we have to do tomorrow.

In the morning we are going to Hannah's last basketball game. Kinda sad and kinda exciting. That, by the way, is at 8 AM. Halfway through the game we have to leave and head over to Minden with Jacob's sister because she is going wedding dress shopping tomorrow. It takes about 45 minutes to get to Minden and I have to drop off my kids at my mom's house first. Somehow I got asked to be the wedding coordinator for my sis in laws wedding and it is alot to do. Good thing we have a year before the actual wedding.

The bridal shop opens at 10 so I will be there with my sis in law and mother in law and then I have to leave there at 11 to go to my nephews birthday. Good thing that it is in Minden. After my nephews birthday I am going to take my kids to a birthday party at Kiddie Mia's for one of my daycare kids parties. Hopefully after that we will be able to come home and do nothing.

Sunday morning we have to be at church at 8:30 and then when church is over I have to once again go and meet my sis in law at David's Bridal to go and try on more dresses. Then we have to be back at church at 5:00 for Ensemble and Awana's and then stay until 8 for choir practice. I will be glad when the Easter musical is over. These next 6 weeks for us are extremely busy and we have no time to rest.

Why is it that everytime the weather gets nice we have no time to enjoy it? Just once I would like to be able to say we have nothing to do. Maybe that day will come??? Not until my kids turn 18 or so I know but I am looking forward to that day, even if it is 11 years away.

I have a whole new respect for my husbands side job as a a yard man. I know that Jacob works hard but yesterday I got to experience it myself. I will fill you in on the interesting day that we had yesterday.

Jacob has been mowing yards since he was 7 years old with his dad. When his father passed away Jacob continued mowing yards and still does it to this day along with his regular job. He is a very hard worker and today I understand that so much more.

Yesterday afternoon I was playing outside with my daycare kids and waiting on them to get picked up when my phone rings and it is Jacob. He has had a blow out on the trailor that is carrying the sod he is going to lay. He says that he can still drive the trailor but he is late getting where he needs to and he can't even stop and get himself something to drink. He then asks me the million dollar question. Can you bring me something to drink??

Next time I will think about the answer to this question carefully before answering. I answered yes and the kids and I took off. I decided that since we were going we might as well stay and help and let the kids see what their daddy did on Saturday mornings. That was a dumb idea!!!

We stop at Wal-Mart first because we have to get drinks and if I am going to help Jacob I needed to get myself some gardening gloves. Ha Ha Ha. When we got to Mrs. Howards house Jacob still had over half the trailor full of sod and the back of his pick up truck full. We arrived at about 6 and we did not leave there until around 9:30 last night. I put sod into the wheelbarrow off of the trailor and then we went into the backyard and laid sod on the ground. I was in charge of straightening out the pieces when he laid them on the ground. I also got the priviledge of piecing together the bad pieces of sod and making them look good. This is much harder than you think especially at night.

By the time we finished last night the kids had gone to the suburban and put on a movie and I was knowing that I would be hurting in the morning. Our kids were troopers and I knew that they had to be starving because we had not eaten so we took them to Taco Bell on the way home and then we had to all come home and take showers before bed. I think that we finally got in bed around 11:30 last night. It was a long night and today I can barely move. We are up early for a basketball game that Hannah has and then we are supposed to come home and clean house, but I think I am going to take a nap and lay around. I hope that everyone gets out today and enjoys the beautiful weekend.

Today is going to be a great day. I am getting ready for a jam packed weekend. We have so much going on in the days and weeks ahead. I am super excited because one day in the near future my grandparents will be moving down to Minden to live with my parents. I can't wait for that to happen. I am extremely close to my grandmother and just to have her so close to my home will be wonderful, not to mention that all of my aunts and uncles will have to come and visit so we will also be seeing alot more of them I hope. My kids absolutely love spending time with my grandfather also so I hope that this will be good for him. Actually he is the one that will be living with my parents and my grandmother will be moving into a nursing home nearby. Not only that but we also have the end of basketball season for Hannah coming up, my niece Blake's birthday, my nephew Michael's birthday, Women of Faith conference in Shreveport, Sage girls conference in Tyler, Easter weekend and the Choir Easter musical, my mom's parents 50th wedding anniversary in San Antonio, and my mom's birthday coming up in the next 6 weeks. I don't know how we are going to fit it all in. It seems like this time of year it just gets busier and busier. We have no weekend available just to sit at home and do nothing. Oh well it is also alot of fun and I can't wait to get in the swing of things. I guess I better get the kids up and dressed.

Well this has been an interesting weekend. On Friday night we took Preston, Hannah and one of her friends, Chloe, to the Mudbugs hockey game. They had a great time and this was Chloe's first hockey game. We really enjoyed the game and I got to see a really good friend that I grew up with and I haven't seen in a long time. It was great to see her. I wanted to share some pictures with you guys. Chloe and Hannah had a great time running down the wheelchair ramp at the Century Tel Center. Then we came home and we had to watch High School Musical 3 again. I think that they went to bed around 11:30 or so. I had to get them up on Saturday morning at 7:15 so that we could go to Hannah's basketball game. It was a good game we had to go into overtime and we won 10-8. Today we went to church like normal and then Jacob decided to take the kids on a 4 wheeler ride. Jacob jumped off the 4 wheeler to get it unstuck and when he did Preston decided to also get off except that he grabbed the handles and pushed the gas. The 4 wheeler took off with Hannah and Preston still on. Jacob got there right before they both fell off of it and stopped it. They were both scared and came in crying. Preston came in and said momma I almost killed myself. I think that he is trying to be evil kneivel or something. So needless to say we had an exciting day. I hope that you all had a great weekend.

I am learning alot about faith and trust today. I have known for some time that there was a possibility that my husbands job would be in trouble since he works for a supplier of GM. Today he said that some very important decisions were being made concerning several Magna plants. I am praying that one of those plants is not his. I know and have known that there was a possibility that we might have to move, but I just am not ready for that to happen. I don't know what God has in store for our family but I do know that I have to trust Him and know that He knows what is best for us. Please pray that we will know what way God wants us to go and that we follow His lead and not the way that we want to go. I am just praying that the doors will be open and that our eyes and hearts are open to see the way that God wants us to go.

Monday, February 23, 2009

This weekend was wonderful for our family. My dad was able to come back to our church this past Sunday night and baptize Hannah. It was so exciting and we are so proud of her. My family and Jacob's family and some of our good friends came to our house for dinner after church. We had bodacious bar-b-que and it was good. Mrs. Nora our next door neighbor brought over some wonderful banana pudding and my mother-in-law brought some of her wonderful king cake. It was delicious. Today all of my daycare kids were back and it was alot of fun. We really missed Ashlynn and Isabelle last week. Today was also kind of a hard day for me because my grandfather was in a car wreck. He is okay, but he should not have been driving in the first place. He did not want to listen to his children and grandchildren when we said he should not be driving. He and my grandmother will be moving down here sooner than my parents thought because of what happened. I am not glad that it happened but I am glad that he will be moving here sooner. I just ask that everyone keep my dad and mom in your prayers as well as my aunts and uncles. Also keep my grandparents in your prayers. That God will just open the doors that are needed to be opened so that they can be taken care of.
Also I would ask that everyone keep Jacob and his job in your prayers. We don't know what is going to happen and we will not know until the end of March. Right now it is not looking promising and it is very frustrating. And it is up to the President and Congress to decide basically by deciding what to do with GM. I just pray that God opens their minds and hearts to do what is right for the company whatever that may mean for our family is fine. God is going to help us through it we just have to keep remembering that.
The last thing that I will write about tonight is my son. I am so frustrated with him and the fact that he does not want to potty train. If anyone has any ideas please share them with me. He was potty training great and then all of sudden decided he was no longer interested in going to the potty. We have taken away toys, the Wii, and his favorite trains. He still does not care. I have also gone as far as to leave him in wet pants all day and he does not care. I don't know what else to do, but I do know that he will be 4 in June and he should already be out of pull ups. I hope that everyone has a great day and I hope to hear your ideas on potty training. I might pull out my hair if we don't learn soon.

So far this has been a great weekend. After Hannah came home from school with a slight fever and we thought that we might have to cancel our plans, but we had a great babysitter that came over and stayed with her and Preston. They had a great time playing with Bonnie, who Preston called Barney, and Bailey. We finally made it to the Mark Lowry concert with some friends, Erin and Damon Reeves. We had a blast. Mark Lowry is so funny and the group LordSong that came with him is great. Then today we let Hannah sleep in since she was not feeling well and then we cleaned house. We are getting ready for a very exciting evening tomorrow night, Hannah is getting baptized. We then got dressed and headed out to the Mardi Gras Parade in Shreveport. It was so much fun. We went with some of our good friends Michael and Julie Allwhite and Susan and Dane Loyd. We had a really good time and the kids caught a ton of beads and toys. The kids and I even rolled down this giant hill that we were standing on top of. It was cool. When we left there we took the kids to eat at our favorite Mexican restraunt Gomez. It is so good. Now I am trying to pick out a song to sing in the morning and then we will be running all day to get ready to have our family over for dinner after Hannah's baptism. I hope that all of you guys are having a great weekend just like we are.

I just want to say thanks to my Pokeno girlfriends. I always have such a great time playing pokeno and talking about adult things. There is only so much kid talk a girl can take at one time. After spending so much time with kids during the week I really look forward to girl time. This is just a short note today and I am sure that I will have lots more to say tomorrow. Have a great Friday everyone.

Today I am sitting in the sun writing this post. The weather here is so amazing and my kids are really enjoying being outside riding bikes and writing on the sidewalk. It is really amazing how the weather can go from 40's and 50's to 75 the next day. That is probably why everyone keeps getting a cold but I really enjoy the weather anyways.
As I am sitting here I just keep thinking about how blessed we really are. We have a great house with just the right size yard and 2 beautiful kids. They might be a handful at times but they are great. We live in a wonderful town that is not too big, but not too small either and we just happen to live in the only subdivision in our town with a sidewalk, which is great since our kids like to play in the front yard. My daughter just learned how to ride her bike really well and she is venturing out around the neighborhood alone, which is really scary, but I guess she has to learn sometime. If we lived anywhere else, we would not be able to do that with her, but we are very fortunate to live where we do.
We also have a great church family and for that I am extremely greatful. When my dad left our church people could have treated us differently than they did, but they chose not to and that is why I love my church family so much. I know that I could not have made it through this transition time of "growing up" without some of the best christian friends. To Michael and Julie Allwhite I want to say thanks a bunch for always being there to listen and to Michael for setting my attitude straight about different issues in the church. We love you guys and your family and we may not have made it through this time without ya'll. To Tania Turner thanks also to you for listening and letting me vent ALOT. I really appreciate you and I know that you will be a lifelong friend. To Julie Barnes I am so thankful for a best friend like you because even though you may not totally understand what I am going through all the time, you still listen to me. Thanks to everyone who has helped me when Jacob was gone out of town and just know that we really appreciate each and every one of you. Well I guess that is all I have to say for today. I know this is long and for that I am sorry, but I had alot to say today. Until next time

Well I am going to try out this blogging thing. I hope that I can find the time each day to update it. Let me begin by telling you a little about us. Jacob is the most wonderful christian man and he works really hard so that I can stay home with our two kids. He works for Intier Automotive, they are a supplier for GM, and we are praying that we will still have a job after the end of March. I am not really nervous about it because I know that God is going to take care of us and he will open a door somewhere for us. Jacob knows that he has somewhere that he can go if the local plant closes, but that does mean that our family would have to move. We are definitely open to moving, but it is very scary.

I am staying at home with our wonderful 3 year old son,Preston, and I also keep children in my home. It can definitely be stressful at times but it is really good for my son because it is giving him some kind of structure. My kids that I keep are absolutely wonderful and God could not have blessed me with better children. My son is definitely alot like his father and keeps us on our toes. He is going to be 4 in June and I am praying that he will be potty trained by then. Most of you know that we are very laid back parents, but Hannah was so much easier to deal with than Preston. He is very stubborn and strong willed. We are definitely realizing that we are going to have to be alot more stern with Preston than we ever were with Hannah. At 3 we have already grounded him from his trains and the Wii and he still does not care about going to the potty on the "big boy potty." It is very frustrating, but I know that he will get it soon.

We also have a daughter who is 7 years old, Hannah, and such the drama queen. We never know what she is going to say or what is going through her mind. She recently excepted Jesus as her savior and we could not be more proud of her. She will be getting baptized this coming Sunday evening by my dad. I am very excited that my dad will get to baptize Hannah. She is also playing basketball and it has been alot of fun watching those games. The only bad thing is that our games are all at 8 am on Saturday mornings. No more sleeping in until basketball is over. The good thing is I have all of my errands done by 1 or 2 in the afternoon so we have more time in the evening together. She is doing great in school and she is actually enjoying it even though she may not let you know that all the time. I am having to become more disciplined with our time so that we can get all of her homework done, but we figured it out and have finally gotten our time down.

We are definitely always on the go, but we do really enjoy it. My husband has been traveling alot lately and so when he is home we try to stay home so that we can spend time with him. Hopefully he will be home for a while this time. We are definitely not ready for him to go back to Michigan.
